Weights and measures

Today is my first official day walking on the Camino de Santiago.  My body is still trying to adjust to the new time zone. This morning I woke up at 4am because my 6 million dollar leg was a bit on fire. I really wanted to just start walking but the pilgrim store didn’t open until 10am. So I had to wait around for a few hours.  When I finally got under way it was already getting hot so between that and quite a bit of discomfort I didn’t make much distance. I know in these first days it is better to be cautious and try to avoid extra injury.  At least now I have a shiny new set of waking sticks. They should help a lot.

I stopped at a pharmacy in Pamplona to get my official start weights but their scale was out of order.  So once I arrived at Zizor Menor I found another pharmacy with a working scale. They even have a special fold out panel to weigh your pack. So many of you have inquired how much my pack weighs… Drum roll please… 7.050 kg or for the American’s is 15.54 pounds. I went super minimalist!

I also weighed myself so I can do a comparison when I am finished. Not much else to tell today.
